(metro stop La Villa-Basilica). In 4 days there had to be the anniversary of Virgin Mary appearing to a poor peasant Jose, so crowds were already there with new ones flocking in&#8230;people were coming with bags and food prepared to camp for days on those vast sacred plazas. At the time there were 3 groups dancing some national dance, dressed in colorful clothes, some groups with little flags for distinction looking for a quiet corner to all pray together, lots of people coming with their Virgin of Guadelupa paintings or statues &#8211; maybe to get them sanctified&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1068.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3905\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1068.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1068\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3907\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1071.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1071\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We counted 6 churches on the premises. With gardens and butterflies around them. Luckily there was a hill behind the Basilica with another chapel on it, a rather steep hill, so we could climb and look around at the city skyline far away for the first time:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1109.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3919\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1116.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1116\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1109.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3916\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1109.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1109\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1104.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3915\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1104.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1104\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1103.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3914\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1103.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1103\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1102.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3913\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1102.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1102\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The peculiar thing about that hill is that it is not very high or big, but so much water was pouring from all sides of it wherever you go  -it was dripping, flowing, falling in special canals and pipes down to abundant gardens:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1110.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3917\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1110.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1110\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1114.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3918\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1114.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1114\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The New Chapel that is built to the left of Basilica was always full, mass was following another mass:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3906\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1070.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1070\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1099.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3912\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1099.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1099\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a>While the Basilica was almost empty and beautifully decorated-  a good combination of yellow and white flowers! <a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1092.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3909\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1092.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1092\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1094.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3908\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1077.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1077\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1094.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3910\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1094.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1094\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1095.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3911\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1095.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1095\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe Basilica&#8217;s facade is leaning to the left but camera manages to hide it. However, it didn&#8217;t hide the leftovers from 1995 earthquake by another smaller chapel:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3920\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1117.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1117\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1119.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3921\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1119.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1119\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a>This is a very interesting clock &#8211; sun and regular, has Indian decors incorporated, as well as the dancers were using Indian rhythms and feathers:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1123.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3923\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1123.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1123\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1129.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3924\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1129.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1129\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Who cares&#8230;:-)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1131.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3925\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1131.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1131\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a>As Chapultepec park was closed, we, disappointed returned to the old Town and walked the Regina pedestrian street. A good note-  there are not so few pedestrian streets in MC, which was good for us, walkers:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1134.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3926\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1134.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1134\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1143.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3927\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/DSCF1143.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF1143\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The wall up is made from live plants, there are two bikes attached high up on it &#8211; cute! They also served different Quesadillas.
