I say &#8220;as if&#8221; because it has that pedestrian &#8211; market part in the middle where lots of kiosks are dislocated selling flowers and souvenirs and where the mimes are presenting their acting pieces &#8211; mostly &#8220;live sculptures&#8221; &#8211; to tell the truth a very sad sight&#8230;The sides of Rambla are open for cars, so you have to be careful, as everywhere there on the streets. But first of all  &#8211; the beautiful &#8220;Umbrella&#8221; building you get to see if you come our from a metro station Liceu:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2033\" title=\"DSCF0167\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0167.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2034\" title=\"DSCF0168\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Then the center of Rambla with Miro&#8217;s mosaic:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2036\" title=\"DSCF0511\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0511.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">And the mimes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"DSCF0508\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0508.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2039\" title=\"DSCF0172\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0172.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2040\" title=\"DSCF0173\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0173.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">And a strange Dali lover\/painter\/gallery owner:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2041\" title=\"DSCF0176\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0176.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">By the way- as many as there are beautiful houses in Barcelona,  we had a hard time finding any commercial  art galleries, except for this strange one. In two days we even went to the beach area, they had nice instruments for adults to train there (it wasn&#8217;t warm enough to do anything else) and also for kids to climb:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2048\" title=\"DSCF0557\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0557.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">From there we headed towards Montjuic -which is a mountain and we had to climb it&#8230;Or could take a cabin like this to get there &#8211; but we didn&#8217;t go as far as where those cable cars start:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2049\" title=\"DSCF0193\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0193.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">So we climbed and climbed&#8230;and took pictures on the way:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2053\" title=\"DSCF0197\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0197.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I would like to call this picture &#8220;Stairs to nowhere&#8221; as there is an analog in Alaska &#8211; &#8220;A bridge to nowhere&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2054\" title=\"DSCF0201\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2055\" title=\"DSCF0205\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0205.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">We went through the parks there, climbing up and down the switchbacks, didn&#8217;t reach the Castell, the Stadium, but saw an Ethnological museum and a Miro museum on the way:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2056\" title=\"DSCF0211\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0211.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"422\" height=\"563\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Didn&#8217;t enter them&#8230;It was too late and we were already tired. But the museum I am most sorry about that I didn&#8217;t enter is the big one &#8211; Museu Nacional d&#8217;art de Catalunya:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2057\" title=\"DSCF0214\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2059\" title=\"DSCF0218\" src=\"\/impressions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSCF0218.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Its size scared me, but I should have allocated a day to visit it&#8230;it can be best reached from Plaza d&#8217;Espanya, there are even escalators that take you up to the museum.
